Before this quarantine started, I was at the gym five days a week. Not only was I teaching fitness classes, but I was working out. I spent more time at The Max Challenge than I did at home. I would drive home from school, go straight to the gym for 3:30 and would not arrive home until 9:30 sometimes. I became a trainer there beginning in September and it was the best decision I have ever made. The Max has truly become my second home. The members have turned into my family. Now that everything is closed, I have to workout from my house. It has been a major adjustment and I would do absolutely anything to be back with my favorite people. However, The Max is so amazing that we have virtual classes. I get to workout fives days a week and virtually teach two times a week! The gym is what keeps me sane and if it were not for the virtual classes I firmly believe I would have already lost my mind being locked up in my house for this long.
The playlist I have attached for this week is one of my personal favorites. I used to use this all the time as the background music for when I was teaching. I would also use it when I was working out on my own. Every song on here reminds me of all the laughs and amazing memories I have had with my members since September. Usually the members would always joke around with me about the music because it was “teenage” music, however there was something different about this playlist. The first time I played it, I thought they were all going to laugh and tell me to switch it because they didn’t know any of the songs, but they really seemed to enjoy it. My fondest memory of this playlist is when Yeah! by Usher came on. They all made a point to go home and memorize the song without telling me. It came on the next week and they all started singing and dancing to it. I was crying that’s how hard I was laughing.
This playlist just reminds me of happier times and it is also great to workout to. When I have a break in the middle of exercises I always find myself dancing to them. In order to get a really good workout in, you have to have a really good playlist, in my opinion. It makes working out 2000000x more fun.
